Секция I 62 XXX Международный Конгресс по источниковедению и историографии стран Азии и Африки a part of “the second edition by Cheng” (“Cheng yi ben”; the remaining chapters, except chapters 4–8). It is incomplete, because the third volume is lost (chapters 4–8). Seven novels are included into the academician V. P. Vasiliev’s collection. The book with the shelf number BY 19 only consists of 25 chapters (26–30, 36–40, 46–60). After a small investigation Zhang Yun found that the novel is a mix of damaged “Cheng yi ben” and “Cheng jia ben”. The book with the shelf number BY 20 is “Cheng yi ben”, which was probably published in 1792, it has chapters 31–120. BY 21 is stored in two copies (chapters 9–17, 37–46, 53–120; and 61–90), both are damaged and both were published in 1832. V. P. Vasiliev also had BY 137 “The Faith on the Golden Jade with new commentaries and all portraits” ( 《增评 补像全图金玉缘》 , 1889, 120 chapters), BY 239 and BY 240. The last two (“The illustrated story written on the Stone, with new commentaries”, 《绣像全图增批 石头记》 ) are similar: lithographs published in 1900, each contains 120 chapters. Xyl. 2382, “Dream in the Red Chamber with new commentaries” ( 《新评红 楼梦》 ) is similar to BY 21, and it is also damaged, and contains chapters 57–120. Xyl. 1321 “Illustrated Dream in the Red Chamber with new commentaries” ( 《新增批评绣像红楼梦》 ) is an illustrated complete edition of 120 chapters in 20 volumes; published in 1822. Xyl. 1610 is “Illustrated Dream in the Red Chamber” ( 《绣像红楼梦》 ), published in 1864, 120 chapters in 24 volumes. The similar book (xyl. 2377) is in the collection of P. S. Popov, but it is not full, chapters 1–6 are missing. Xyl. 263 is a late re-edited version, containing chapters 10–120. The Library has also six different versions of the novel with continuations: “Dream in the Red Chamber with addition” ( 《补红楼梦》 , 1820, xyl. 740, complete, in 48 chapters), “Continuation of the Dream in the Red Chamber” ( 《续红楼梦》 , 1799, xyl. 741, complete, in 30 chapters), “After Dream in the Red Chamber” ( 《后红楼梦》 , xyl. 742, complete, 30 chapters), “Dream in the Red Chamber comes true” ( 《红楼圆梦》 , 1814, xyl. 743, complete, 31 chapters), “The long Dream in the Red Chamber” ( 《增补红楼梦》 , 1824, xyl. 744, complete, 32 chapters) “Repeated Dream in the Red Chamber” ( 《红楼复梦》 , 1805, 745, complete, 100 chapters). The last book is quite different: “The strange story about Dream in the Red Chamber” ( 《红楼梦传奇》 , 1799, xyl. 800, complete, two parts).
